Apollo Missions: Command Module (Technical Diagram & Cross Section)
Recreated from official NASA sources, this poster is one of a series covering numerous configurations and stages of the Apollo vehicles and missions.
This particular artwork shows the Command Module, the brains of the orbiting craft and critical for the astronauts safe return to terra firma.
The module is annotated to show key structures and stowage locations as well as give an idea of the scale by including crewmembers' seats in their typical configuration. The lower portion of the poster depicts a cutaway of the module, showing yet more detail of the interior when split in two halves.
The contents of these posters come directly from scans of the original NASA paperwork in the 1960s and 70s. As a result, there may be small artifacts or distortions present in the line art which are a result of the scanning process. The most jarring of these have been repaired using fonts and line rendering accurate to that which was available at the time. That said: Some imperfections have been left in place to preserve the authentic feeling of the poster and original quirks of the typesetting.
The original work on which these posters are based remains property of NASA, no copyright or endorsement is asserted.
